Recently we have a new range of Mountain Bikes in store. This new range is the Gary Fisher range of 29ers. We have in order on the right the HiFi Deluxe and Rumble Fish I the two Dual Suspension and also the Paragon Hard tail. These great bikes are part of a demo fleet so if you're interested in trying one out see the guys in store.

So I bet some of you are asking yourself, Who is Gary Fisher?
Well Gary Fisher is truly one of the founding fathers of the sport of mountain biking. He began klunking his way into history by racing his modified cruiser down the rough fire roads of Marin California's Mount Tam. From then on, Gary Fisher led the mountain bike world down the path of innovation as he worked to make his intense personal vision a reality.

Our intrepid and handsome leader Roger (he makes us call him that!) returned to work today after 10 days in China at the World BMX Championships.

Roger finished a fantastic 8th in his age-group which means his number for the upcoming season here in Australia will be W8.

Great Bike Riding At Surfers Criterium

What a great days racing in the criterium up in Surfers Paradise yesterday.

Some big name road bike stars like Robbie McEwen, Nick Gates, Jason Phillips and more raced around for an hour at a furious pace in the stifling heat - those guys really motor.

In the race before the pros a young fellow by the name of Michael Hepburn smashed the B Grade guys with a very, very strong performance. Michael made all the play and all the breaks and still had enough to outsprint his rivals at the end for a pretty comfortable win.

I'd say he's a name to watch out for in the future.

I Saw Santa In The Shop!

Wow!

We've been flat out in the shop for a couple of weeks now because Santa comes in to check out and buy a few bikes (apparently the Elves have been having some equipment troubles and Santa has been buying bikes from shops like mine to make up the production shortfall).

What I Tell Santa

I tell Santa a couple of things:

I've been good and deserve to be on the 'Nice' list
When he buys a bike he should look for a good solid build (a bit like Santa himself!)

Guide To Bike Quality

A very rough guide for build quality is price - generally if you pay a little more, you'll get a better bike. A bike that lasts longer and is cheaper to maintain.

If you buy a complete bike for $50 the chances are pretty high that it's not made from the best or strongest components.

Santa loves giving bikes that are great value and last a long time - that's why he shops here!

Just asks the guys here - myself (Roger), Phil, Gary or Hayden and we'll take great care of you and give you the right advice.

Forgot to mention that we're having a sale on Trek Road Bikes - there is a Trek to suit just about everyone, and Treks are renowned as a beautiful riding bike.

One of our regular customers is my mate Brendon Sinclair, who rides his Trek on crazy long distance rides.

Brendon made a mistake the other day.....

Roger Wins Silver In Queensland!

News just to hand is that our intrepid leader, Roger Campbell, (that's him below) managed 2nd in the Queensland BMX Championships (Masters) held last week.

Roger has ridden every bike known to man and his expertise includes being Head Mechanic for the Australian Triathlon Team here in Australia and overseas.

Congrats to Roger - still life left in those old legs!

He now makes us call him "The King of Bling!"

(Not really, but it sounds good!)

Helping Out Brendon's Ride

Having been in business for close on 20 years means we've seen a lot of kids come into the shop and, over the years, come back with their own kids.

One of the things I love about the business is we're actually doing something good - there's nothing better for a boy or girl to grab a bike and start pedalling.

Not everyone has the best or easiest start in life and a local guy (Brendon Sinclair) is part of a charity Bike Ride from Sydney to Surfers.

All money raised go to the very worthy Youth off the Streets charity in Sydney.

Thought We Could Help Out

I've been reading Brendon's site where he mentions the ride and I read about his son donating his $250 prizemoney for winning an award.

I know Brendon (his office is across the road) and his kids are mates with my kids.

I also knew he rode an old, old bike! (because we used to repair it every week!)

So I thought we could help him out, and the ride, by donating a beautiful Trek 5000 carbon bike.
This truly is a beautiful bike for the road and Brendon's first words were "It's like riding on a cloud!"

Hello and welcome to Palm Beach Supercycle.

Road Racing, Mountain Biking, BMX and More

Hello, I'm Roger the owner of Palm Beach Supercycle - on the Gold Coast Highway. I've had the business for almost 20 years and love it!

I know a bit about bikes (some people say I'm obsessed!) having competed in all forms of riding like:

* Ironman Triathlons
* Downhill mountain-biking
* Cross country mountain-biking

I've also just started BMX racing when my kids took it up - I came 2nd in the Queensland Championships for my age group.

Sounds impressive but when you're getting older like me there are never a huge number of others in the races!

Former Head Mechanic For Australian Triathlon Team

I was also the Head Mechanic for the Australian Triathon Team here in Australia and overseas.

And although I know a bit about BMX bikes, our # 1 BMX expert is Ben Welman. Ben's a bit of a legend on the Gold Coast with bikes and a highly respected bike mechanic.
